Stock Game: TRADES

4/10/15
After opening my first stock portfolio, I was very hesitant as to what stock I should invest in. After reading most of the tutorial and playing around on the market. I found an interesting section with the top five biggest gains for the day. At the top of the list was a company called ALUMINUM CORPORATION OF CHINA LIMITED. It had shown a five percent increase for the day and since each share was around $17, I decided to invest in five hundred shares, hoping it would give me a higher return when I decided to sell.

Another company I invested 500 shares in was SINOPEC SHANGHAI PETROCHEMICAL CO LTD. The reason I bought these shares was because it was one of the top five losses of the day and I saw it as an opportunity to buy cheap stocks in hope that the market would bounce back and I would be able to profit from it.

Shorted stocks was a new concept I had read about in the introduction. Since I wanted to gain as much experience from this as I could, so I decided to invest 500 of STARBUCKS shares as a short stock.

4/13/15
ZYNGA was another company I invested in because I’m very familiar with the company and I see the name a lot whenever I’m on social media. Zynga is one of the more affordable and widely known stocks. At $2.50 a share I couldn't help but buy 5000 shares.

General Electric seemed like a good area to invest my money towards energy. I bought 2000 shares worth of General Electric ‘s stock at roughly $27 a share.

I recently read an article from wall street journal that chipotle is one of the fastest growing companies and that over the  past few years stocks have more than tripled. Chipotle is a very successful chain restaurant with many more locations opening across the country. I believe it is a good company for long term investment. At $681 a share, I only purchased about 200 shares.

Avon Products were $9/share. I was hesitant on purchasing but after only buying 50 shares I saw a 2% increase. I will risk more next time on small companies such as these.

Apple has always been a company I really liked for its innovative technology. They are always growing and their products sell, so I invested in 200 of Apple’s stocks.

Nike is one of the biggest sports brand in the world. The company has built its success on product innovation, creative marketing and partnerships with pro athletes to wear its products. Over the years, it has moved from shoes to apparel and equipment, expanding into a dizzying array of sports, including basketball, soccer, golf, skateboarding, snowboarding and tennis, along the way.
Now the company has the 26th most powerful brand in the world, according to Interbrand. That’s been key to helping it expand overseas. North America now accounts for just 45.4% of Nike’s annual revenue, followed by Western Europe (18.0%), emerging markets (16.2%), China (10.7%), Central and Eastern Europe (5.6%) and Japan (3.5%). So i purchased 300 shares of the company.
